During my time of Employment at PC Service Call, which is now renounced as 'The Tech Guys', I managed to gain excellent experience, confidence within myself and achievements on my own grounds which have proven to be of great help in motivating me to expand my knowledge in my skills and intrests i.e in resolving problems with desktop computers, laptops, hardware, software etc. My job title was 'CPA' which stands for Customer Product Advisor. The products that I had to give advice and solutions over the phone for was desktop computers, laptops etc that were brought from either PC World, Dixons Group or Currys/Currys digital. I once undertook a call that lasted me for over an hour and a half. It was a customer that had a fair amount of knowledge about what a PC is and how to operate it(thank God for that). It was a case where one problem after another arose which can get REALLY annoying. I know for 100% if it was someone else that had taken that call, he/she would have given up after a very short while and have had the customer an engineer booked to come out and see to the problem, but I really took to it to make sure this call ends with a customer satisfactory telephone fix. I really enjoy giving advice, and helping others to resolve computer/laptop problems, and that is what motivated me to stick with the frustrated customer, also it is what's motivating me in doing this course today and to make use of/enhance my skills and knowledge. I, in my opinion, regard that as an achievement, because it actually made me realise what I am capable of and how far I can go with the potential I have, and how patient I can be because of the passion I have for what I know and would like to further. I look forward to give 100% in completing this course fully and grasp every bit of information I possibly can from the courses I am undertaking.

I have been doing the PA course for less than two months now and I wish that I had thought of this years ago. The course is hard, I work nights and also have a two year old daughter who can't understand why daddy needs to sleep during the day. Despite being a low income family we found the money to pay for it all, so that in the (hopefully not so distant) future, I will be able to repay their faith in me. At present just done TMA 03 and still averaging about 95% on my scores. He hoping what the future May bring.

I have started my course this month which is a huge achievement for me having been stagnant and unsure of my future direction for some time. I have completed the first two TMAs and got 100% and 97% respectively and have just submitted my third TMA. This is a massive achievement for me as I am so busy working and have also played several gigs with my band in the evenings and been rehearsing twice a week for an opera performance. I'm not actually sure how I've managed to fit studying in to all this but my personal determination has found a way and I have been rewarded with good results which have motivated me even further to suceed with my course.

I use Windows 2000 on a daily basis and I am finding this course extremely helpfull in making sure that I can not only maximise my own benefits of the Microsoft Windows systems but also for the people I support, making my job not only easier but also making me feel like I can constantly accomplish more and achieve even greater levels of professionalism in the support I offer. Thank you.

I enrolled in SkillsTrain because I wanted to spend time with my family more when they get to the UK next year.
I was an HR professional for more than 10 years now - more than 3 in the UK and another 7 in my country, the Philippines. I enjoyed working in HR, don't get me wrong, but I've grown tired of having to work beyond my time in the office and then having to take home work to do over the weekend.
My wife and I are planning to bring our children in the country next year - I've been separated with my daughter for more than 2 years and I've hardly seen my son grow. When they get to join us in the UK, I just want to spend as much time with them as I can.
I will complete A+ and N+ so I can be part self-employed, repairing PC's and laptop's or setting up and maintaing networks for small companies. I will also complete MCSA so I can work part-time or work full time with some days working at home - I know that with current technology, System's Administration can easily be done remotely at home. It is still hard work but at least I will have several earning options which would allow me to be with my kids.
With help from SkillsTrain, all this will become a reality.

Hi there, my name is Rahat Ali. I am a new student at skills train, studying the MSCA programe. When I first started the programe, I found that I was extremly unfamiliar with the type of eperience I had in my past career of studies. I chose the training programe so that I could enter a different type of working environment and improve my prospects for the future. I do believe that I did not have as much self esteem in myself when I first started. After going through my assignments and studying hard, my esteem grew and made me much confident on taking on the whole course. Today I am so glad that I did not break down to giving up on this course. After submitting only 2 TMA's I achieved an excellent result of 93% on both. I was extreremly pleased with the outcome which boosted me further in to the course. The more time I spent studying, the more I found that I finally found something which I enjoy doing, something which I was searching for years. I realise that my results May not be as good in my coming assignments, but I have full confidence that I can make it to the top! Thanks ever so much team.

I feel my biggest achievement was taking the decision to enroll on the course. At the age of 53 the prospect of changing careers was daunting. After listening to your representative and finally deciding that you are never to old to learn I believe that I have made one of the most important decisions of my life.
Although computer literate I would say that I am far from being an expert, however after analyzing your teaching methods I am more than confident that I can complete the course and change to a complete new career.
I feel that achieving 100% marks in both the foundation and TMA01 was more than I expected when taking on the course.

Even getting on this course but also getting 98% on my TMA as when I was a kid I got told I would never work or do anything with my life as I had brain damage and went to special schools. So to get this far n life means so much and to get this chance to do this course is great.

THE ACHIEVEMENT IVE MADE IS THAT BY DOING THIS COURSE IS THAT IVE STARTED TO BUILD MY OWEN COMPUTER FROM SCRACH IN WHICH IM ENJOYING DOING AND IVE LEANT SO MUCH . IVE WOULD NOT HAVE ABLE TO DO THIS WITH OUT DOING THIS COURSE.

Hi there, My story (in brief) goes like this: I have a medical condition called epilepsy, which from the years 2001 to 2004 was totally out of control, for 4 years I had no quality of life – and I spent more time in hospital than I did at home. My memory was in effect "wiped clean" of all the computing skills and qualifications that I had worked so hard for in the years previous to 2001.
However, when my condition was finally controlled by new medication it was like being set free in many ways, and I was determined to regain my lost education. After lots of research (and worry from my family that it might be too much) I decided to go for the MCSA course. Doing this course has helped me to achieve my goals. My memory works best "by association" and learning in this way has brought back an abundance of memories and "repaired" them regarding my IT skills.
A couple of weeks ago I finally completed and uploaded the last page of my own support website that I created especially for other people with epilepsy, who May be going through what I went through, it's my way of "giving something back."
As for recent configuration work, my failing hard drive "died" on me in early January, so I bought a new one, installed it and for the first time felt confident enough to perform and carry out a successful clean install of Windows XP Pro by myself – and it worked! During the past month I have gained scores of 100% and 98% for 2 different assessments and I can't put into words how much I feel that I have achieved with the challenges I set myself in this way.

I can still remember that faithful day day when the postman handed over the mighty RED file, I wondered. Breez of discouragement blew on me, I said to myself where will I start from.
I postponed the start day for some weeks, finally I started, it was hell for me I did not understand what they were talking about. I heted everything I even blamed myself for signing up for the course.
Let me cut the story short, the story has changed, I can now see myself as an adminstrator in the making. I love the course and I am happy that I choosed the course.
The question is, what have I acheaved in this few weeks. The way the cause is design is so fantastis that you cannot forget what you have learnt, because you must have gone through one form of practical or the other, that makes the whole process easy to remember.
One of the greatest achievent is this, I have had my personal computer re- instaled on two occations just because I could not deal with the problem. And you know what it is to re- instal your computer, all data lost. But this are little problems that you can tackle, but I didn't know, but now I know what to do.
Though I have not finished my cause but I see the life of a computer as simple as anything. Just like the Doctor will not panic over a patient, that is how I have become. I am gradually becoming a doctor not to my computer only but all the computers that will come my way.
Finally, internet security is the main priority of an administrator just like I have learnt, I have been able to explain to friends what they should look out when using the internet for shopping. This has helped a great deal.

In the last couple of months I have been under a lot of pressure with my full time job working nearly twelve hours a day, seven days a week but still manage to do and submit my assignments.when I started the course I knew just a little bit about IT, but has gained a lot of knowledge on the course so far through my dedicated study with the time available to me.
