I am a carer for my partner who has severe epilepsy, along with doing the housework and looking after our 2 boys ages 3 and 5. I often study late into the night and go over the TMA's and over again until I am sure I can get the result I am aiming for, this last month the whole family has been ill with the flu and when we managed to get over that I came down with tonsillitis. I am eventually aiming to get qualified for when my youngest starts school full time and I am able to return to work. I have had a very difficult year after 12 months of uncertainty was cast upon all of the employees of the company I was working for last year, then I made the decision to leave. I also started this Comp TIA course subjecting myself to another monthly outlay. All of this was taking its toll on how I felt about the way a company treats its employees, I am glad I left the company (well known name). Before start this course, I did not know about computer. I did not have any idea how to type, how to install software. Now I know all the part names of the computer. I work full time, but I want to finish this course. I am really enjoying this course. Having given up work to look after my 2 children (3 yrs old and 8 months old), I manage to get the children to nursery for 2 short days a week giving me a total of 6 hours per day for those days to study. After two weeks I have now submitted 4 TMA's and have another 2 waiting. I am getting through roughly 2 chapters per day, this should hopefully mean that I will have completed the A+ coursework in just 5 weeks and will be ready to take the exam. I have volunteered to work 6 days a week in a store which provides computer services. The skills training has helped me to understand the subject much better and the voluntary post has provided me the good experience and confidence in fixing the computer problems. By also managing the work life balance, I have been able to score well in the Tutor Marked Assignments. My course is going very well the tutor team couldn't help me more they stayed on the phone with me for half an hour while I tried to log in and they were very patient indeed ,cheers. I nearly got 100% in tutor marked assignment I will aim for that on the next test. Being able to get back into training. Being dyslexic, it has given me something to prove and to be able to compete at a high level. I was impressed by a rediscovery through the "Learning Styles" session. It was my first experience of live training. It confimed what I thought my best way of study was and was good to know the other methods as well. Now I know how to effectively use each of the methods. I mostly enjoyed the technology bit about the training. The session was good, it gave me a briefing on the fundamental of network troubleshooting and tools to use to resolve network connectivity problems. In my opinion it was very good, and very well lectured by the tutor. All points were appropriatly elaborated on. I found this live internet session very informative and will definately attend more LIT sessions. I enjoyed it being in that Learning Styles. Was excellent, and I wish I attend more lessons in the near future. The three learning ways is very important and hopefully, can help me to find the good way of learning. So I can find my own way of learning.
