Thread: Tutorial Requests

    Default Tutorial Requests

Hey, I am doing some little tutorials to help those out who are stuck on things technical to do with 3ds max. Please note that these are my own tutorials using methods that I have taught myself, I will be starting the coursework soon and hopefully I can brush up on any bad habits I may or maynot have.

Please post your requests and look for anything that helps here.

What about baking maps? Baking normals from high poly models to the low poly/ready for games models as well as ambient occlusion baking. I don't really need tuts on these subjects but it's the subjects I found most difficult besides animation and it's something most people will need to learn.

Yes, that is more advanced, and for that I use zBrush or some clever techniques of my own. I cant wait to see how the course does that though. And I will do a zbrush tutorial too, perhaps as part of detailing the treasure chest. Watch this space

that might motivate more people to do some aswell

That sounds good, apart from most people on these forums wouldn't be using Zbrush, they'd be using Mudbox. It's what ya get with the A&A course. Shou;dn't be too hard for you to learn if you know how to use Zbrush though, so no fear. ^^

I do go into extensive detail in UV mapping here...much to my own boredom lol. I think I wil be pelt mapping more when I'm taught how effective it can be for this kind of model.

    Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksvuXBdoido

    Part 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUQGsen4hFE

    Part 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Igw14yYJ7sk

    More to follow...

Sweet some watching for me to do then =)

Btw Rob edit your original post each time you add a new part aswell including the link in that too that way new members can see all of the parts straight away, where as people like myself can just see the new post you've added in the thread.

What I mean is make a reply each time you add a new part but slap the link into your original post aswell. That way peeps can see you've updated your tuts, yet new comers cab just click and watch =).

Lol dunno why I just repeat myself there XD I'm such a tool
